Atlantic Cost Management, LLC
Company

Introduction
Atlantic Cost Management, LLC was originally formed in 2007, in a low-country coastal region near Charleston SC and later relocated further north near Columbus, OH. A small business enterprise serving the local construction community, ACM has also provided consultant services to projects and clients in other states and countries. The founding member and President has well over 21 years of cost estimating experience and has access to a wealth of further experience through professional associations on both sides of the Atlantic.

When planning, designing and constructing any project, cost is one of the most important factors to consider. Volatile prices of oil and metal can affect many material costs, as witnessed by the presence of rampant escalation following weather events like hurricane Katrina, or following instability in financial markets. From an owner’s perspective the cost estimate may be used to determine the project scope, or whether the project should even proceed.

As your fully independent and completely impartial construction cost advocate, we are not married to any specific project delivery/ procurement route. We specialize in providing our clients with pre-bid, budgetary estimates, starting at the initial conceptual/ schematic design stage through all design stages to issue of final construction drawings. Our estimates utilize regularly updated cost databases and other market driven construction costs. Other financial management services can include procurement/ bidding strategy recommendations, control and review of contract documentation including drawing reviews, value engineering, construction phase cost reporting, change order and monthly progress valuations. All of our services are aimed at protecting the financial interests of your construction project by providing our clients with the best possible cost advice.

While recognizing the subjective element, we take a scientific and methodical approach to cost estimating. Using the time proven process of line item cost detailing, quantifying, unit rates and analyzing and reviewing the various building components, processes and materials, we ensure that our clients receive reliable, identifiable, itemized, cost reporting and advice.

Our skill emanates from our Quantity Surveying training, background, experience and expertise in the specific field of construction costs. This enables us to perform functions similar to a building economist, an estimator and the construction industry equivalent of an accountant.

ACM's aim is to always maintain the very highest of ethical standards in our services and client relationships. We are guided by professional rules of conduct and best practice principles such as the ASPE (American Society of Professional Estimators) Standard Estimating Practice Code of Ethics (details available upon request).

We trust that you will find our services to be of interest and look forward to doing business with you in the near future.
